Good Intentions Artesian Lava Skin-Contact Riesling 2022

Grown on the flint and volcanic soils of Mount Gambier, this Riesling speaks clearly of place. Picked early to capture vibrant natural acidity, the fruit remained on skins for three months, building texture, tannin and its distinctive deep gold-orange hue.
Following pressing, the wine spent nine months on lees in tank, adding weight and complexity. The combination of a high-acid vintage and extended skin contact created a firm phenolic structure that has benefited from nearly three years in bottle, allowing the wine to integrate and settle into balance.
The profile leans toward stone fruit and quince, with dried apricot and gentle oxidative notes, all carried by fresh acidity and a persistent structural line. A textural, cellar-worthy Riesling well suited to thoughtful food pairings and progressive lists.
