The most fashionable grape variety in Italy right now? Possibly. This Nerello Mascalese is from the Western side of Sicily, outside of its ancestral home on Etna. This is a great introduction to the grape - Made to be a vibrant, youthful red with lots of cherry fruit notes (hence the label) in a juicier, less structured style than the Etna bottlings. Fermented in tank.
