An ongoing collaboration with our friends and honey superstars Tim and Emma from Malfory's Gold honey, Hive: Post Brood is a barrel aged golden mixed culture ale refermented with natural formed Warré hive post-brood wild comb from the Blue Mountains and Central Tablelands of NSW.  Each bottle is dipped in the same wax post-refermentation in this beer, there may be small residue still of propolis in the wax leaving black specks in the golden yellow beeswax.   

Tasting Notes: Hugely aromatic blend. Lots of pine needles, resin and the classic Blue Mountains Post Brood nose. Palate carries this through with balanced acidity and a dry-waxy finish. A small bottling of just over 700 bottles means that the proportion of wax:beer was quite high here, which is apparent on the texture and lasting finish. Lovely.
