Garage Project - Fresh IPA - August '25 NEIPA

August is arguably the most important month in the FRESH calendar, and with Beervana and the annual GP FRESH Club meet-up knocking at the door, it would be a crying shame to offer up anything but the pinnacle of hazy goodness. FRESH AUG does not disappoint - it’s everything I love about FRESH, all together, all at once, in a can.

Pilsner malt brings a touch of orange-gold and sweetness, with malted and chit wheat for a creamy mouthfeel and luscious head. That soft juicy malt base is needed to balance out the metric fuck-tonne of Motueka, Mosaic and Nectaron that we’ve loaded into the brew in just about every form we could lay our hands on. Liquid incognito extract, cryo hops and T90 pellets.

And it works. The aroma is a big tropical fruit bomb of passionfruit, guava, mango & pineapple, which follows through to that first sip, each taking turns greeting the front of the palate before they’re joined by notes of sweet pink grapefruit, juicy lime and - dare I say it - a pungent little waft of weed. The kind that wafts above the middle of a concert floor while you inquisitively search for the culprit. Just big, juicy tropical grapefruit kush nonsense, with all the sweet malt, tropical, citrus and dank hoppy goodness summed up in one word - balance. I’m calling it now, it’s a FRESH Fav for me.
